Join the European online conference for Waldorf School Leaders

Waldorf education, with its emphasis on child development and artistic integration, thrives under high-quality leadership. How this manifests in practice varies greatly from school to school and from country to country. And how to achieve this high level is also a challenge for many. The Waldorfschool Leadership Development (WLD) project, a two-year initiative funded by Erasmus+ of the European Union, addressed this crucial issue with a unique approach.

The WLD project brought together eight Waldorf schools from eight European countries. Eight consultants, also from eight countries, guided these schools. United by a common goal, these schools embarked on an action research project to promote leadership development. Problems were explored and deepened, and experiments were cautiously carried out with other forms and behaviors. Regularly, participants in this international network came together online to discuss progress, obstacles, and successes.

In this way, an European network of school leaders was also built. Building a strong community of school leaders across borders is an important goal, ensuring continuous learning opportunities and collaboration.

The WLD project is full of activities designed to achieve its goals. Here’s a glimpse into the project’s dynamic landscape:

• Action Research: Schools conduct research projects to understand the impact of leadership styles on their institutions.

• Professional Learning Community: A space is created where school leaders can share experiences, learn from each other, and grow together.

• Online Platform: A digital hub was developed to foster ongoing communication and resource sharing within the network.

• Course Materials and Workshops: Practical tools and workshops provide leaders with the necessary skills for horizontal leadership.

• Masterclass in Leadership: A high-quality program offers an in-depth exploration of leadership in the international context of the Waldorf school.

• Publications: Publications on this theme are collected in a growing online library.
