My graduation in medicine took place in 1989. After finishing my medical residency in São Paulo, I went to do my internship in Anthroposophical Medicine at the Tobias Clinic in 1993. There I had the opportunity to meet some consultants related to Social Pedagogy, working in the context of relationships between professionals who worked in the clinic.

It was interesting as a young doctor to come into contact with something absolutely new to a field of this profession. When collecting data from this type of consultancy, I was very delighted with the possibilities and full of questions. And soon after I joined the board of directors of the Brazilian Association of Anthroposophical Medicine. It was challenging, stimulating, and the various successes and intense growth of this society of physicians conflicted with new problems that arose at the time, of which I wondered what the best solutions would be.

Here a reflection arose: how could I act as a doctor and also as a manager? I carried this question for several years until I became one of the founders of a non-governmental organization in Ribeirão Preto. The above question came more intensely and I finally made the decision to do a specialization in the field of administration at FGV. A sky opened up and my question was answered.  And that pushed me to take courses in the area of Social Pedagogy. And there I went to take the Adigo Leaders course. It was great. The sky opened up even more. A new field has opened up. New possibilities. New visions. But something was still missing. My intuition said. A gap was still present.

Years later, what was missing came. I did my first program in the area of Horizontal Leadership. It was a gift. The connection was immediate. That’s it! I completed my search. It all made sense. I mingled with the IMO consultants. Some time later, I participated in an initiative to bring Adriaan Beckman to a workshop in Ribeirão Preto. After the event, to relax and celebrate, we went to have a beer at the famous Pinguim. At this celebration, Adriaan invited me to join the IMO. He said I was a person of initiative. I accepted the invitation and did all the remaining programs. Everything was filled with strong intensity and methodological coherence. I became a consultant as well. It was a biographical culmination. I take care of Individuals as a doctor.

In my backpack there is the experience of decades of looking at people’s souls through medicine. And I connect this knowledge to the collective scope in consulting. Who also takes care of the souls of people in the collectivities of the organizations where they are.  Something that inspires me: I thank Adriaan for the phrase…  “To do good, in freedom, respecting what exists there
