We are delighted to share some fantastic news from our colleagues Wei Wang (Alice) and Klaas Ijkema, who attended the 9th World Investment Forum 2026 in Doha, Qatar.
During the three-day event, which brought together around 5,000 participants, Alice and Klaas had the opportunity to jointly present the IMO Foundation’s distinctive collaborative approach. At the heart of the event was the theme of investing in the future with a focus on sustainability – a theme that resonates deeply with our values.
The Importance of Authentic Dialogue
Alice invited Klaas to co-present, framing our approach as a commitment to a “global community of ecological civilisation”. During the session, they led an interactive dialogue exercise with the participants – a moment that proved extraordinarily meaningful.
The reactions were immediate and moving. One participant remarked: “In no other session, roundtable or workshop has there been a dialogue with the participants.” And following our presentation, someone commented: “This is what the UN should actually have been.”
An Investment in the Future
This feedback confirms just how valuable our approach is, based on genuine listening and the co-creation of solutions. We have sown the seeds of change, forged new bonds and opened doors to future collaborations.
Once again, the IMO is investing in the future – not only through strategies and projects, but through authentic dialogue and the building of informed communities.
Thank you, Alice and Klaas, for representing our values with such dedication!
