Kirlene was born in the interior of Minas Gerais, where she completed her studies and moved to Belo Horizonte in search of more knowledge, where she did her Master’s and Doctorate (UFMG) in Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering, respectively. With a dream of being a researcher and a passion for industrial processes, she worked in the steel industry where she coordinated teams and projects, as well as developing communication, negotiation and partnership skills with clients and suppliers.

She worked for 14 years at the University as an undergraduate course manager and undergraduate and postgraduate lecturer, where she discovered her true purpose: to develop people. In her quest to improve the quality of the courses under her management, as well as seeking opportunities for her students within companies in the region, she worked hard to establish partnerships for internships and scientific initiation. She developed a project within the university to extend the partnerships to the whole institution and went on to do another master’s degree in the area of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at STEINBEINS SIBE, University of Berlin. She was one of the creators of the largest innovation project in the region, INOVAWEEK.

Kirlene currently lives in ES and with more than 20 years’ experience in process management and looking after teams, she saw an opportunity to continue her purpose of bringing knowledge to people through consultancy. She met IMO three years ago and since then has been working in the ES region, bringing horizontal leadership to the people of EspĂ­rito Santo. She has carried out projects in the areas of: Development of Self-Managed Teams, Development of Horizontal Leaders and also in a mentoring project aimed at reducing losses and increasing productivity within companies. She also gives lectures, workshops and is a facilitator in the area of Psychological Safety.
